This year I am proud to play a part in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. As a Team Fox member, I will be racing in IRONMAN CALIFORNIA. Taking on the challenge of this fundraising endeavor is both exciting and inspiring. I am making a commitment to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease. I am dedicating my efforts to The Michael J. Fox Foundation because I believe that I am helping to ultimately shorten the road to a cure.
Ironman is thought by many whom have taken on the challenge as both tough and incredibly satisfying. I’m expecting an experience that will change my perception of what I think is possible as an athlete, and beyond. A triathlon race format with over 40 years of history, Ironman comprises of a 2.4-mile (3.8km) swim, a 112-mile (180km) bike ride and a 26.2-mile (42.2km) marathon run. Ironman will be a serious physical and mental challenge that will test my reserves of strength to the limit. It’s the nervousness and excitement of going into the unknown and ultimately overcoming the challenge that I hope makes the training and competing in an Ironman so rewarding.
When is race day?
